5 Steps For Making a Sale

Posted by Maddi Park on Dec 8, 2016 9:00:00 AM

Sales is one of the most important aspects of a growing business. Unfortunately, for some people, sales can be very intimidating. Before contacting your customers, you'll want to have a strategy in place that can help you feel cool and confident when the questions, comments and concerns come your way.

Senior Sales Representative, Stephen Palmer, talks you through his tried-and-true method for making a sale. This process called C.A.R.E.+ is guaranteed to to help you with the sales process and help take away those, "now-what-do-I-say" moments.

C - Contact every customer with a sense of urgency.

Customers don't like to wait. You'll want to contact every customer as soon as possible so that you don't lose their business. Contacting them quickly will allow you to speak to them when you are top of mind and show them what awesome customer service your business has.

A - Ask all the right questions.

A lot of people assume that selling means telling the customer what they want. The trouble with that approach is that you don't have the chance to get to know the customer. Asking the right questions allows you to evaluate the needs of the customer and sell to them accordingly.

R - Respond to their questions.

Your customer will have questions for you. You'll want to make sure that you are prepped with all the information about your services so you can respond in a timely and informative manner.

E - Explain why you are the best service.

There are tons of competition in every industry. You'll want to be equipped with information on why and how your company sets itself apart from the rest. Keep it honest and transparent and avoid talking "trash" about other companies as well. Stick to why you believe you are the best and then let your services speak for themselves!

+ - Your attitude and personality.

Sales is an art. It takes a lot of time and practice to make your sales tactics feel natural. That said, you can always have a positive attitude. Customers will respond better to a helpful and happy sales employee. Be cautious when reading from a script, you want the customer to feel unique (not "just another sale"). Remember to stay relaxed, stay yourself and let the selling come to you.

Now that you've got a new sales method in hand and some advice to help support it, you are ready to hit the phones, chat rooms, e-mails, etc... Good luck and remember, the better your services are, the easier they are to sell.
